Telecoms Networks
The “Telecoms networks” course describes the operation and structure of modern telecoms networks.
Subjects covered include: line and radio transmission; circuit-switched networks including the role and operation of exchanges in the PSTN; types of transmission networks including PDH, SDH and SONET; packet-switched networks including the concept of virtual circuits and connectionless operation of the Internet; introduction to the Internet protocols.
